Hello and “Guten Tag”!
Your interest in our organization is welcome. We have over 100 members of German, Austrian, and Swiss birth and/or related heritage, and people who are interested in that culture. Special activity groups include the Alpine Dancers, Germania Voices, Happy Wanderers (hiking), and conversational German.
Meetings are usually held on the first Friday of every month at the Seaman’s Lodge building in Pioneer Park, 425 Nimrod Street, Nevada City, California, as shown on this map. No-host refreshments are available beginning at 6:00 p.m. A brief business meeting session at 6:30 is followed by social time with contributed snacks and desserts. Often, we have a special program and/or a member playing the accordion for our listening and dancing enjoyment. You are invited to attend as a guest to learn more about us, and to meet members who share common interests. We suggest you attend regular meetings to become acquainted and determine if joining our organization is consistent with your interests.
Check the Upcoming Events in the sidebar for details where a special event pre-empts the first Friday meeting.
Dues are $30 per calendar year, per person. Special events such as the club picnic, German-Amerian Day dinner, and Christmas DInner are usually no cost to members, a charge for guests. If you attend events as a member, you could benefit more than 100% return on dues investment.
A monthly newsletter is sent by print or by email to members, and to prospective members for a few months. A newsletter archive is also here on this web site.
If you would like to become a member, please print out and complete this Membership Application, include a check for $30 per person made out to GCGAC, and mail to:
