Our nearest German-American Club neighbor is the Sacramento Turn Verein.  It was established in 1854 and is the oldest continuously-operating organization in the city of Sacramento.  The early German-American Clubs were athletic clubs, called Turn Verein in German, where members could participate in sports and physical conditioning.  Over the years, they have transformed into much more.

In Washington D.C. is the national German American Heritage Museum,  a great resource for information about German contributions to American culture.
